The establishment of Anatomic Pathology (AP) at one healthcare institution excels the services given by the rest of the departments and specialties.
Addis Hiwot General Hospital took the initiation and establish a standard and state of the art department of AP and shows its commitment to sustain the health and wellbeing of the population. This makes it the first private hospital that expands its service to receive and analyze biopsies and all cytological samples. It follows the standard practice of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and is ruled by a well-known Consultant pathologist who is experienced in different countries. This is directly related to the economical sustainability of the country to save the hard currency for healthcare spent on abroad institutions, as many cases are sent abroad, and sustaining the health of the population increases the production.
