Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Our NICU is a highly specialized run by pediatricians and nurses trained in neonatal care providing the highest level of care available for sick or premature newborns. Most newborns admitted to our NICU are born at our hospital However, high-risk newborns are transferred to our Unit for intensive management.

Our room is warm, fitted with electrical heater which makes it suitable for critically sick neonates. There are two mechanical ventilators for critical sick neonates who are unable to breathe adequately by themselves and need respiratory support.

In addition, the unit is equipped with phototherapy machine (3), baby warmers (2), incubator (3), suction machine (3) and the necessary emergency drugs for neonates. We do lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsy and exchange transfusion.

The NICU is located on the second floor of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) building.
